Primary Transition
Feeder Schools
We welcome students from all primary schools, and anyone is welcome to apply for a place at Hall Park Academy.
The majority of students at Hall Park Academy come from one of our feeder schools. These are:
- The Florence Nightingale Academy
- Greasley Beauvale Primary School
- Lawrence View Primary School
- The Priory Catholic Voluntary Academy
- Springbank Academy
Transition Process
In September, parents of Year 6 students are invited to view secondary schools and select their first, second and third preference of where they would like their child to attend. This is done through their local council. Following schools' individual admissions policies, the council then allocate places at the highest priority school with places available. You can find our Admissions Policy on our Policies page.
On 1st March, parents find out which school their child has been allocated a place at. Parents with children joining Hall Park Academy will hear from us just after this date welcoming their child to our academy and to start the transition process.

This booklet is designed for parents and children to look at together before September. It covers a range of topics all around the transition from primary to secondary. The activities will help students to start thinking about how things may be different in their new school.
Start Your Engines Booklet
This booklet will give parents and students a real taste of what they can expect to be doing in each subject in Year 7. There are suggested activities, reading, viewing and visits that will help support Year 7 learning.
